This companion session is designed for parents who want to feel informed and steady – not overwhelmed. The focus is skill-building and support, with plenty of time for practical Q&A.

You will learn:

  • AI basics, in plain language
    • what AI tools are doing (and not doing)
    • where AI can help learning – and where it can mislead
    • a simple “verify” habit you can model at home
  • Healthy well-being + relationship chatbot awareness
    • why AI companions can feel emotionally “real”
    • how to talk about boundaries and expectations without shaming
    • practical ways to protect sleep, attention, and real-world connection
  • Smart digital safety (calm, practical)
    • privacy basics for teens: what not to share, and why
    • simple account protections (password habits + 2FA)
    • how to coach kids to pause before clicking, sending, or reacting
  • A parent-friendly support plan
    • conversation starters that don’t trigger shutdown
    • a simple “if something goes wrong” response plan
    • what to document, who to contact, and how to stay calm and effective

Format: 60 – 75 minutes (Zoom or in-person), designed to be clear, encouraging, and immediately useful.
